We put a dGPS and a LegoMindstorm NXT set together to alert us when we’re speeding. Using a simple program and the dGPS sensor, we will never speed again.
The program we wrote reads the velocity from the GPS sensor, converts the reading to miles per hour, and displays the speed on the screen. If we go above the legal speed limit (65 miles per hour on the interstate), the NXT starts screaming and blinking. You can see all this on the video we put together below.
