Connecting the Arduino and EV3

With a few months of EV3 under our belt, we thought we would share some of what we learned about connecting the EV3 with the Arduino.  The Arduino is a fantastic system for tinkering with electronics.

We hope this tutorial will be useful for folks that are trying to take the EV3 a little further than it’s designed to go.

We love both systems, and a mash-up was inevitable.  This tutorial walks you through:

• Hardware setup.
• Arduino firmware setup.
• EV3 Programming.

We developed special blocks for communicating between the EV3 and Arduino that are bundled with our EV3 package.
